Gerard Azar Photography is a portfolio of images.  

This new website was established in 2013 by Gerard Azar to showcase an evolving portfolio of work.

We see with our mind not our eyes.

Our eyes are receptors of light, nothing more. It is our mind that brings structure to sight and creates the world that we see. We have the illusion that what we “see” is exactly what exists around us, but it is a perception of the world, painted by light. It is very possible that we each create subtlety different images of the world. Our perception is coloured by our focus, our emotions and our circumstance.

Photography is a medium that allows me to purposely "paint with light" and create images that communicate the world as I see it.  Because no form of human communication can be entirely accurate or complete, I can never know the extent to which I have been successful or otherwise in communicating an image and the emotion around the image.
